SLDG for DriversRegister

Driver Privacy Policy

Last updated 7 July 2026

1. Scope

This policy covers personal data processed about drivers and applicants on the SLDG drivers portal and the SLDG Driver mobile app. It supplements the general privacy policy at srilankadriverguide.example/privacy. Data controller: Sri Lanka Driver Guide Ltd (UK). Contact: privacy@srilankadriverguide.example.

2. Data we collect from drivers

  • Identity & licensing: name, photo, driving licence, SLTDA tourist-driver or chauffeur-guide licence, vehicle registration and insurance documents, years of experience.
  • Operating profile: home town, base location coordinates, alert radius, languages, vehicle details, daily rate, availability calendar.
  • Bookings & earnings: job alerts sent to you, your responses and response times, completed tours, payout amounts, bank account details for transfers.
  • Device: push-notification tokens and app version, used solely to deliver job alerts.
  • Reviews: traveler reviews of your service, which are public on your profile after moderation.

3. How it is used

  • Verification documents are reviewed by our operations team to approve your profile and badge tier; they are never public.
  • Your base location and radius are used only for dispatch matching. Travelers see your home town — never your precise coordinates or address.
  • After a confirmed booking, the traveler receives your name, photo, phone number and vehicle details so they can recognize and contact you.
  • Response-time and completion statistics may influence how prominently your profile appears.
  • Bank details are used exclusively for payout transfers and are visible only to our finance function.

4. Sharing, retention, rights

  • Processors: Supabase (data hosting), Cloudflare (infrastructure), Expo (push delivery), Resend (email), Stripe (traveler payments). We never sell your data.
  • Documents are kept while you are registered plus 12 months; booking and payout records for 7 years (tax law).
  • You may access, correct or delete your data, and deactivate your profile at any time from the portal or by emailing us. Deleting identity documents ends platform eligibility.
  • Complaints: UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local authority.
